About Blonarin 8mg Tablet
BLONANSERIN belongs to a class of 'antipsychotics' medications primarily used to treat schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental condition in which the person may feel, hear or see things that are not there, believe things that are not true, or feel unusually suspicious or confused.
BLONANSERIN contains 'Blonanserin' that works by altering the effects of chemical messengers in the brain (i.e. dopamine and serotonin), thereby helps improve mood, behaviour and thoughts.

Schizophrenia

BLONANSERIN belongs to a group of medicines called 'antipsychotics' used to treat schizophrenia in adult patients when first-line treatment is ineffective. BLONANSERIN contains 'Blonanserin' that works by altering the effects of chemical messengers in the brain (i.e. dopamine and serotonin), thereby helps improve mood, behaviour and thoughts.
Directions for Use
BLONANSERIN should be swallowed as a whole with a glass of water with or without food or as directed by the physician. Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Drug Warnings
If you have a predisposition to hypotension, aspiration pneumonia, or severe hepatic or cardiac impairment, you should use BLONANSERIN with caution. If you have had suicidal thoughts in the past, tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not take BLONANSERIN unless your doctor tells you to. As BLONANSERIN may cause drowsiness and restlessness, do not drive or operate machinery unless you are alert. Keep your doctor updated about your medications and medical condition to rule out any potential interactions and negative effects.
Drug Interactions
Drug-Drug Interaction:
BLONANSERIN may interact with anti-epileptics (carbamazepine), anti-fungal (ketoconazole), medications used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (fluvoxamine), anti-depressants (fluoxetine, nefazodone) and medications used to treat Parkinson's disease (levodopa, dopamine).
Drug-Disease Interaction:
Inform your doctor if you have liver disorders, hepatic disorders, cardiac disorders, hypertension, seizures, diabetes, lipid alterations, weight gain, parkinsonism, obesity, dyslipidemia, or high cholesterol levels.
